So, here we are. 2026. It seems like only yesterday I was sitting down to play on my Mega Drive, but alas, that is some 30+ years ago now. Age comes to us all (I turn 48 in December), but that doesn’t mean that this is all about looking back. Yes, I write about retro games, and make videos about them, but this piece is about the future. Specifically the next 12 months. So, onwards…
The YouTube Channel:
If I’m being honest, not much will change on the channel in terms of releases. I’ll still be aiming for a 2 weekly release schedule where I can (so that’s 26 new videos to come). The main changes will hopefully come in the technical side of things. I did manage to make some improvements to the audio quality of my videos this year, and I hope to improve it further. I’m also working on my editing as I do recognise that sometimes, my videos can feel quite pedestrian, and a little more dynamism wouldn’t go amis. I’m not thinking about adopting a Tik Tok/ADHD style of editing, but just upping my game in terms of transitions, overlays, etc.
The Website
As for this place? Well, I’d like to get back into the groove of trying to do an update at least every 2 weeks to match the videos, if not weekly. There is plenty of stuff bouncing around inside my head to write about. Some perfectly normal, some more out there, and some that will probably piss people off. But, I want this site to be an honest place. If I think something is amazing, I’ll say it is. If I think it’s awful then I’ll say that as well. I’m not worried about “upsetting the apple cart”, or getting on the wrong side of bigger YouTubers/Commentators. I have my thoughts, and I’ll always be 100% honest with them.
And Finally…
I do want to thank everyone who has watched a video of mine in 2025, subscribed to the YouTube channel, become a member there or on Patreon, bought me a KoFi, read an article on here… I truly appreciate it. To know that there are people out there interested in what I have to say helps make each day that little bit more tolerable and pleasant. Thank you.
